Bus Station
Construction of Stage 1 begins early next year. This new station - located between Albany and Constellation - will offer more travel options and greater convenience for Bays residents using the Northern Busway.
Scott Point Sports Park - Opening October
At 16 hectares, this is the largest sports field development in Auckland, serving Hobsonville and Scott Point. It features 3 full-size sports fields, 2 baseball diamonds, 2 half-field astro turfs, plus walking and cycling tracks. With a $40 million budget, Stage 1 opens this year, and Stage 3 will bring hard courts and a multi-sport facility. A magnificent asset for the community!
Marine Recreation Centre - Coming Soon
to Hobsonville
The Upper Waitemata Marine Centre is set to become a hub for water sports in Hobsonville thanks to the Trust. Council took over the beautiful jetty and pontoon in 2024, contributing $4 million from its Facilities Fund. Opening is planned for 2026.
HOBSONVILLE FERRY SERVICE - GROWING FAST
The Hobsonville Ferry Service continues to expand, with wharf upgrades, charging nfrastructure, and 18 weekday return sailings (8 on weekends). A cycleway is also planned along Hobsonville Road, improving access.
A New Botanical Regional Park in Greenhithe
In a remarkable act of generosity, philanthropist Rosemary Platt gifted 14 acres of ecologically significant gardens in Greenhithe. The land has deep family roots dating back to 1974, when the Platts opened their native plant nursery in Albany. Auckland Council will protect the site in perpetuity as a Regional Park for future generations.
